Greenacres Family Newsletter
Friday, May 22nd
From the Principal's Desk
Happy Friday to all our Greenacres Families. As we approach the weekend, I want to remind everyone that there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day. This extended weekend provides a wonderful opportunity for rest and time with loved ones.
More importantly, Memorial Day is a somber and significant day for our nation. As I sit here in my office looking out, thinking about what my family and I will do on Monday, my eyes hit the flag, and I am reminded of the true meaning of the day. It's a time to pause and honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Their courage and dedication have protected the freedoms we cherish, and it is crucial that we remember their service.
I encourage you to take some time this weekend to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day and, perhaps, engage in an activity that helps your family remember those who have served. This could be a conversation, a visit to a local memorial, or simply a moment of quiet reflection. In fact, the local Pines and 16th Ave cemetery is beautifully decorated in observance of the holiday.
We wish you a safe, restful, and meaningful long weekend. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Tuesday, May 26th.
Warmly,
Brandon Dunn
Principal
