Principal's Update
11/17/2025
Good Morning Memorial Families,
We have a busy two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving break! We have been hard at work preparing for our second annual Family Literacy Night this coming Wednesday evening and I encourage you to try to attend. There will be stuffed and living animals to cuddle and read with, a glow room, and of course, an opportunity for you to shop the Scholastic Book Fair with your children. We are asking that you try to RSVP if you plan to attend so that we can plan materials and supplies accordingly. The link to RSVP is below, and we look forward to lots of reading and writing on Wednesday night.
Next week we will be holding our conferences with families. The conferences are an important time for caregivers to get an update on your child’s progress so far this school year. In third and fourth grade, the students will be participating in the conferences and sharing their own perspectives on their learning so far this year. If you have not yet signed up for a conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher this week.
I want to thank the Memorial PTO and all of our families for helping to raise the money to replace the broken piece of our playground. The bridge was out of service for many months, and this weekend it was replaced with a new piece that the students voted on. Great thanks to the Phillips family for supplying the labor for installation free of charge. We are excited for our students to get to play on the new ravine swoop this week. See the pictures above!
Congratulations to our youth cheerleaders who placed in second at the regional competition last weekend and will be traveling to Orlando at the beginning of December to compete in the national competition!
Have a wonderful week!
Warmly,
Wendy
