• February 18: Preschool Information Night

• February 20: Preschool Registration opens

• March 7: Priority registration deadline for Byron Residents

• Notifications sent by March 14

• Registrations after March 7 will be based on availability, with placement notifications sent within 14 business days.

• August 8: Final registration deadline for guaranteed start on September 2.

You’ll know your child is ready for preschool when they show signs of independence, curiosity, and social engagement.

Key indicators include:

• Social Skills: Can they play alongside or interact with other children?
• Separation Comfort: Are they able to stay with another caregiver without distress?
• Basic Communication: Can they express needs, like hunger or bathroom breaks?
• Following Directions: Can they follow simple instructions and routines?
• Interest in Learning: Do they enjoy books, creative activities, or exploring new things?

Every child develops at their own pace, so trust your instincts and consider a preschool trial through Early Childhood Family Education classes Ready Set Preschool - starting April 3 or Little Cubs Library beginning April 7 or May 5.

Byron Preschool programs are available to children who are ages 3-5 by September 1, 2025.

We’ll also share important details about the registration process to help you get started. Don’t miss this chance to see why Byron Preschool is the perfect place for your child to learn, grow, and thrive!

This presentation is for adults who are interested in learning more about preschool programming for their child/children. If your preschool-aged child would like to attend with you and they are able to separate from you, they are invited to sign up for the Preschool Messy Art Add-on class. You MUST register them for the class to participate - only $5 per child.

Selecting the right preschool is an important decision that sets the foundation for your child's growth and learning. When selecting a preschool, consider these key factors:

1. Philosophy & Curriculum – Does the school’s teaching approach align with your child’s learning style and your family values?
2. Teacher Qualifications & Ratios – Are the teachers experienced, licensed, and attentive? Is there a low student-to-teacher ratio?
3. Classroom Environment – Is it safe, clean, engaging, and designed for hands-on learning?
4. Social & Emotional Development – Does the program emphasize play, social skills, and emotional growth?
5. Daily Schedule & Flexibility – Are the hours, structure, and activities a good fit for your child’s routine?
6. Parental Involvement & Communication – Does the school keep parents informed and involved in their child’s progress?
7. Safety & Accreditation – Is the preschool licensed or a Parent Aware rated program, and do they follow proper safety and health protocols?
