😎 Looking Back, Moving Forward: A Year to Remember
As we wrap up another incredible school year at DaVinci Academy, we just want to take a moment to say thank you—to our students, families, staff, and community—for being part of something special.
This year brought growth, learning, laughter, and a few challenges along the way. We saw students dive into their learning, stretch their imaginations, and support one another in ways big and small. Whether it was in the classroom, on stage, out on the playground, or in quiet moments of discovery, the heart of DaVinci shone through every day.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Not just the lessons and milestones, but the relationships we’ve built and the resilience we’ve shown. This is what makes DaVinci more than a school—it’s a community.
Now, as summer begins, we hope you find time to relax, recharge, and make some great memories. We’ll be here, getting ready for another amazing year ahead—and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back.
Have a wonderful summer!

📝 End-of-Year Family Survey
Each year, we ask parents and guardians to complete our End-of-Year Family Survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable—it helps us understand what’s working well and where we can improve to better serve our students and community.
The survey is anonymous and confidential, and includes a combination of multiple-choice questions and opportunities for open-ended comments. It should take approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.
Please complete the survey by Friday, July 18, 2025.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your voice helps shape the future of DaVinci Academy.
Wishing you a wonderful summer!
🏥 A Note from the Health Office
Summer break is here, and it’s the perfect time to begin preparing for your child’s health needs for the upcoming school year. Taking a few steps now can help ensure a smooth start to the fall!
✅ Immunizations
If your student is due for any routine vaccinations, especially those entering Kindergarten or 7th grade, please schedule an appointment with your child’s healthcare provider over the summer. Immunization compliance is a requirement for school attendance, and updated records or a plan must be submitted before the first day of school. If you are opting out of immunizations, an exemption form must be completed (signed and notarized).
💊 Prescription Medications
If your student requires medication during the school day:
Schedule appointments now with your child’s provider to obtain updated medication orders for the 2025–2026 school year.
Ensure any medication brought to school is in its original, labeled pharmacy container.
Please note: expired or unlabeled medication will not be accepted under any circumstances.
A new Medication Authorization Form is required each school year—even if there are no changes.
📝 Health Plans & Medical Conditions
If your student has a chronic condition (such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, or severe allergies), summer is a great time to update their Individual Health Plan (IHP) or Emergency Action Plan (EAP) with their provider. Updated plans and medication forms can be sent in with your child or dropped off at the Health Office at the beginning of the year.
☀️ Wishing You a Healthy & Happy Summer!
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students safe and healthy. I wish you and your family a fun, restful, and safe summer break and I look forward to welcoming everyone back this fall!
📰 PTO News
This has been a wonderful school year! We attribute this year’s success to the entire DVA Community. We are grateful to all the families, teachers, staff, and volunteers who supported our fundraisers, came to our events, and volunteered their time. Because of everyone’s generous fundraising and volunteer efforts, we were able to offer an action-packed year, full of many exciting events and cherished memories. But most importantly, we were able to continue enhancing our children’s educational experience.
While it is easy to see the PTO in action by highlighting the large events, like the Middle School Party and End of the Year Carnival, it may be more difficult to see the day-to-day impact that the PTO has had on the DVA Community, and ultimately our children. This year’s fundraisers (Pizza/Butterbraids, Gertens, and Cheap Skate), donations, and monthly DaVinners helped us raise over $12,000! We used $3000 of these funds to fulfill monthly teacher classroom requests and other school activity needs. These funds also helped sponsor teacher conference meals, snack carts, the Middle School Party, the Carnival, the Middle School Career Fair, and Teacher Appreciation Week. A great big THANK YOU!!
Wishing you all a healthy, safe, and happy summer. See you in August (come find us at the Open House)!

Free Summer Meals for Kids – Find a Site Near You!
Summer is just around the corner, and we want to make sure every child has access to nutritious meals while school is out.
Hunger Impact Partners, in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), is working to spread the word about free summer meal programs available to all kids and teens up to age 18—no registration or ID required at most locations.
To make it easy for families to find meal sites, we’re excited to share a helpful tool: the Free Meals for Kids mobile app.
What is the Free Meals for Kids App?
The Free Meals for Kids App uses your phone’s GPS to show nearby locations where kids can receive free meals throughout the summer. You’ll see:
✅ Schools, parks, libraries, and community centers offering meals
✅ Dates and times of meal service
✅ Directions and distance to each location
✅ Information on whether registration is needed (most do not!)
The app is updated daily to provide the most current information, and includes other helpful links for families through the Resources+Food button—connecting you to support programs like United Way 211, SNAP, WIC, MFIP, and Hunger Solutions.
We’re also helping promote SunBucks (Summer EBT), which provides additional food support for families.
