SAFETY NOTICE!

To improve the traffic flow at the corner of Front St. and Iowa St. we are asking you follow these changes to provide a safe environment for the children.

All buses will pull up to the sidewalk to drop children off blocking the entrance to the parking lot. This will prevent traffic in and out of the lot during drop off and provide a safer area for the many children walking into school.

If you must enter the upper lot, it is ONLY accessible by driving east on Front St. and turning right into the lot. We ask that you do not enter from Iowa St. or turning left into the lot off of Front St.

If you are dropping your child off in the morning please drop them at the front of the building on Cothern St.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Are you prepared?

In the event of an early release due to weather or any situation that may arise, it is crucial that we have accurate contact and dismissal information in Skyward. Here are a few tips to help an emergency early release run smoothly.

1. Missed Call-If you see you missed a call from the school, please listen to your voicemail, and or check your email, before calling the school. It is most likely a message alerting you of the dismissal/event that is occurring. We need to keep our phone lines available.

2. Contact Information-Make sure your family contact information is accurate in Skyward.

3. Alerts-There are several ways you can receive a notification from the school. In your Skyward family access account please be sure the boxes are checked for the way(s) you wish to receive an alert from the District Office.

The choices are: Email, phone call and/or text message.

You can also follow our School District Facebook for announcements.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Please send proper outside play attire to school with your child EVERYDAY. We ask that each child come with boots, hat, gloves/mittens, a warm coat and snow pants. Even without snow, boots are a MUST. The playground and blacktop area can get very wet and muddy and wearing boots will prevent mud from getting tracked into the classrooms.

Don't forget to send shoes to change into once inside and label all items with your child's name or initials.

If your child does not come with boots they will only be allowed to play on the sidewalk area.

If providing these items for your child is a hardship for your family, please contact the office. We want to be sure everyone is warm this winter:)
