Does the budget include salary increases for teachers?
Yes!
The budget includes funding for a salary increase for all teachers. The district’s teacher salary schedule increased the starting salary for first year teachers from $44,321 to $50,000, a 12.8% increase. The budget eliminated the teacher salary pay bands that started at year 25 so that every year teachers will see an increase in their salary. The teacher salary schedule also decreased from 45 years to 35 years to be more aligned with our district’s demographic. Funding was also approved for the teacher salary schedule step increase.
Does the budget include salary impacts for classified staff?

Funding was included in the budget to implement recommendations from the classification and compensation study designed to address salary disparities related to classified positions and to make Richland Two more competitive with our surrounding districts.
