A Message from Mrs. Franciosa
Dear Evergreen Families,
Last week, we observed Educator Appreciation Week and School Nurse's Day. At Evergreen and across PV, we are fortunate to have committed and enthusiastic educators who devote themselves to providing our students with quality instruction. Beyond their teaching, they forge remarkable bonds with the students, establishing a genuine community for their growth. Additionally, we are privileged at Evergreen to have Mrs. McOwen as our school nurse. Her knowledge, skill, and compassion cultivate a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Please scroll down for details about our Field Day on Friday, May 17th, including the Theme Days for our Field Day Spirit Week next week.
We have many upcoming events this Spring. Please scroll down to view a list of important dates for the coming weeks.
A quick snapshot of what you can find in this newsletter is listed below.

Fun Fair: Volunteers Needed
May is here and that means it's time to get ready for Fun Fair!! Evergreen Home & School is excited for another fun (and free!) event and we hope you'll be able to help us "Pop Into Summer" by volunteering to help.
Volunteers MUST HAVE CLEARANCES on file with the school.
If you sign up for multiple time slots and they overlap with your child's class time, we will have coverage so you can step away to visit with them. Also, volunteers can bring younger siblings at no charge.
If you have any questions or if you aren't able to make your schedule work with the listed time slots but you still want to volunteer, send an email to carrie.homeandschool@gmail.com and I can help you out.
Thank you....we can't pull this off without your support!!

School Bus Tracking App
PV is embarking on an exciting pilot and we would appreciate your input! Our transportation company, STA, is implementing Versatrans My Stop, a school bus tracking app designed to provide real-time updates for bus location and arrival time.
The app seamlessly integrates GPS technology to automatically update the current location of the bus, proving invaluable during inclement weather or traffic delays. Additionally, families can opt to receive instant notifications regarding any disruptions to the scheduled arrival time. With GPS data continuously updating in near real-time, the app ensures accurate information on the bus’s whereabouts, with the scheduled arrival time dynamically adjusted to reflect encountered delays.
The free My Stop app is available for both Android and Apple devices.
To view your child(ren)’s bus information, follow the steps below:
- Download the My Stop app by searching for ‘Versatrans MyStop’ in your app store
- Select Perkiomen Valley School District from the initial screen

May Is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness and Physical Fitness & Sports Month! PVSD is thrilled to celebrate health and wellness within our community, with families, and students. We will be participating in a Green Light Campaign, lighting the way for health and wellness.
During the month of May, we will be engaging in a calendar wellness challenge that focuses on physical and mental wellness. For more information, click here!
Spring Review & Practice of Safety Protocols
Ensuring the safety for our students, staff, and visitors is a top priority.
It is important that students learn how to be safe. During April and May classrooms will review our various safety protocols. We will also practice the different Standard Response Protocols including the Hold, Secure, Shelter, Lockdown, and Evacuate safety drills. Student friendly and age-appropriate language is used.
For more information about our emergency preparedness, please visit https://iloveuguys.org/The-Standard-Response-Protocol.html
Reminder: Physical Exams for 5th Grade Students Entering Middle School
Just a reminder!! PA state law requires a medical examination for all students in sixth grade. It is recommended that this examination be performed by your family physician since he/she can best evaluate your child’s health and update immunizations. An examination completed on or after July 1, 2022 (up to one year prior to the student’s entry into sixth grade) will suffice. The physical exam report (distributed to all 5th-grade students ) is to be returned to your child’s school nurse by the first week of the 2023-2024 school year.
It is a good idea to make a copy for your records.
Please note: The PA Department of Health immunization recommendations for this age group include 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap), and 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV). These vaccines will be required for entrance into 7th grade unless a letter of exemption is on file.
Thank you!
Mrs. McOwen
