Our Fundraiser Kicks Off TODAY!!!
Our fundraiser officially kicks off TODAY!!!
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for supporting PBIS and helping the PTA to fund field trips, our family events, and our end of the year carnival to benefit ALL students at Cooper Elementary.
As a family, you will work together asking friends and family to donate on your student’s donation page at MyBooster.com. The best part is, you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser!
If anyone is interested in a general donation link not affiliated with a specific student, that link can be found below!

News from 4th Grade
Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Correll joined forces to do a collaborative lesson about the problems of plastic bags and repurposing them as jump ropes for PE. Mrs. Peterson read aloud the book, One Plastic Bag, and then introduced the STEM project creating jump ropes to try to "sell" to the younger students in PE. On Friday, March 7th Mrs. Correll's 4th graders advertised their jump ropes and had some kindergarteners and 3rd graders test them out. The younger students then got to vote for their favorite jump rope.
The 4th graders wrapped up their informational text unit on Friday, March 7th and shared their writing with some 5th graders, 3rd graders, and other special adults throughout Cooper. Thank you to everyone who supported the 4th graders writing! ~Mrs. Correll

All-District Event
From the Desk of Mrs. Stariha
Cooper Families,
Our 4th graders started the Forward State Testing this week and are off to a great start! Please remember to reference the schedule that teachers provided and try to ensure your child is getting enough sleep at night so they are ready to do their best for the exam.
Also, the weather is still ever changing and many days we have quite a bit of water and/or mud around our playground. Please send an extra pair of clothes with your child in case they get wet or muddy at recess.
Finally, we are seeking family feedback. If you could please take a few minutes to fill out the short survey, we would greatly appreciate it!

Honesty
“It takes strength and courage to admit the truth.”― Rick Riordan, The Red Pyramid
It is difficult to be honest all the time at any age. We are talking about the importance of being honest. This includes the benefits of honesty and the consequences that can come from lying, cheating, and stealing. In the article below, the author gives a few strategies to help kids get better at telling the truth.
1. Talking with kids about honesty - this includes using stories and books (and there are lots of good books about honesty for kids!)
2. Acknowledge and recognize honesty when it happens
3. Model honesty through actions and by keeping promises
