A Message from the Principal ๐๏ธ
Dear Quaker Families,
We have reached our first milestone - five weeks into the school year. This time offers us a great opportunity to reflect on the start of the school year including the highlights and the challenges. I continue to be impressed by our studentsโ cooperation, high degree of respect and dedication. The level of involvement in athletics, music programs, clubs and activities is extraordinary. These will continue to enrich their learning and overall high school experiences, undoubtedly adding to their wonderful memories and friendships. As we continue forward, the impact of their attendance on their learning and experience is critical. I greatly appreciate your support in helping our students arrive on time, daily, to get the most from their education at OPHS. Your partnership is noticed and appreciated. As always, please reach out to me or your House office any time so we can best work together for your student.
Go Quakers!

Safety Drills
For student and staff safety, please be aware we will continue fire drill and evacuation procedures with OPHS faculty, staff and students. Students are expected to comply with all directions.
Student Drop-Off
Families, thank you for your cooperation with student drop-off routines on Freeman side only. As a reminder, students wait in the cafeteria upon entering the building until 7:15, unless they have a pass from a teacher to meet with them. If they donโt have a pass they can stop by the main office for assistance.

During September and October, the High School Counselors are meeting with seniors for their Senior Check-In to discuss post-high school plans. Options including college, trades, military, and employment are discussed.
Throughout the fall semester, many college representatives visit OPHS. When students meet with these representatives, not only are they learning about the institutions, but they are also meeting with a person who may review their college applications. Keep in mind that "demonstrated interest" is a factor some colleges use when making admissions decisions. We highly encourage Juniors and Seniors to meet with the college representatives. More information can be found on the School Counseling page of the website.
College Application season is underway! Students must complete a Transcript Request Form for each college application. Please give your teachers and counselors at least two weeks' notice when requesting transcripts and letters of recommendation. Common deadlines and Transcript Request Form due dates can be found here on the School Counseling page of the high school website.
