The Lion's Roar
March 16, 2026
Dear families,
We’ve only been back from vacation for a few weeks and we’ve been extremely busy! Last Monday was our last Winter Activity Day and we appreciate all our staff and students for doing an amazing job when they were off-campus. Starting next Wednesday we’ll be back to our regular schedule of Clubs on Wednesdays. In April and May, 5th graders will be joining Concord on Wednesday afternoons for Experiential Learning where they will fish, cook, create art and go mountain biking. They are so lucky!
Tomorrow we start VTCAP testing for grades 3-5. This test is only one assessment but we take it very seriously–if possible, please make sure your child gets extra sleep for the next few weeks.
This weekend Lunenburg holds its annual Maple Festival and we hope you can all attend. Our students have worked so hard designing posters and learning about all aspects of making maple syrup, even tasting it. Thanks to some clever staff members, students had a chance to taste real and imitation syrup and compared the two to decide which they liked the most. The majority of our students preferred the real syrup and only 11 liked the imitation syrup better.
Just a reminder that Friday is an early release day–students will be dismissed at noon, but KEAP is available for any students who would like to stay until 3:00 pm. If you would like for your student to participate in KEAP, please register them here.
Have a great week!
With love and gratitude,
Mrs. MacQueen

Kingdom East School Meals Program
School Meals
The Kingdom East School District provides several opportunities for students to access healthy and nutritional food before, during, and after school. Dependent on federal grant funding, pre K-8th grade students receive fresh fruit and veggie snacks during the week, and students up to age 18 who stay after school receive a free after school supper. Breakfasts and lunches are free this year for all students. The Abbey Food Service Group currently provides delicious, nutritious, and high quality meals to students and staff.
Even though meals are now free to all students, our schools still need to gather household income data. Help us provide the best education possible for your children. Filling out this form only takes a few minutes. It will help your community, your school and your property taxes. The information you give helps your school access federal and state education dollars. This funding supports reading, math, science, arts, PE, afterschool and other vital programming. 2025-2026 Household Income Form
