Book Fair Information
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: MONDAY, Aug. 26-THURSDAY MORNING, August 29 during school hours
OPEN HOUSE, Monday Evening 5:00-6:30
Location: EASTVIEW GYM
We highly recommend setting up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair. In addition, all bookfair purchases will be 'rounded up' to the next dollar amount, and these amounts will be applied to the Share the Fair contributions.
Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. We hope you’ll join your child at our school’s book fair and share a reading experience they’ll remember forever.
PS: Need one more reason to visit the Book Fair? Every purchase at the Fair benefits our school!

Birthday Celebrations at EV
PLEASE NOTE: Birthday Celebrations at School - per student handbook
Birthday Celebrations:
Parents must ask permission from the homeroom teacher regarding birthday celebrations and bringing any items to school to celebrate. Teachers and/or grade levels have the right to make the decision on allowing or not allowing food to be brought into the school. We have several students in the building with allergies and we don’t want to provide situations where they cannot participate. We encourage you to have celebrations on the weekend or choose an alternate plan like sending in a special pencil for each child.
THE OFFICE does ANNOUNCE each birthday and has something for each student for their special day.
PLEASE NOTE: Special Items Delivered to School
We know birthdays are exciting to kids and parents. However, we ask that you please do not send deliveries (flowers, candy bouquets, etc.) to school for students. Any items sent will be held in the office until the end of the day and a parent will be required to come inside to pick up the item. These items can cause a distraction to instruction and a safety concern during dismissal (flowers in glass vases, candy with peanut butter/allergies). Also, please note that these items are not allowed on the bus.
