  • Get tested.
  • If these symptoms are explainable by an underlying condition (such as shortness of breath for an individual with asthma) exclusion may not be necessary.
  • The symptoms in the graphic to the right are not the only symptoms of COVID-19, but are only those that should trigger an automatic exclusion and evaluation for COVID-19. Other symptoms may include fever, chills, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea/vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • A person is able to spread the virus up to two (2) days before they have any symptoms, but many COVID-19 cases show no symptoms at all.

Anyone exposed to COVID-19 may have to QUARANTINE for 10 days...

Whether you do or not depends on your vaccination status

  • Whether you do or not depends on your vaccination status

    Individuals can avoid quarantine if they are:

Individuals have to quarantine for 10 days from the last day of contact with the positive person if they:

  • Are not vaccinated
  • Are vaccinated but have not received the booster if eligible**

Individuals have to quarantine for 15 days if they live in the same household with the positive person and that person cannot isolate:

  • Only have to quarantine if not vaccinated or are vaccinated but have not received the booster if eligible**
  • Quarantine for the five days of isolation for the positive person and
  • Then quarantine for another 10 days

Richland Two is following the 10-day quarantine option while our community is in high spread and there is a large number of positives and close contacts that must be tracked.

SCENARIOS FOR CONSIDERING TEMPORARY SWITCH TO VIRTUAL

  • Based on the current guidance from S.C. DHEC, Richland Two considers temporarily switching a grade level at a school or an entire school to virtual in the following scenarios:

    • School is unable to maintain operations with current staffing as determined by the school district;

    • 30% or higher rate of absenteeism in the school or grade level due to COVID-19 (including students in isolation and in quarantine);

    • 5–10% or higher of the student body is in isolation simultaneously after testing positive (or being assumed positive based on symptoms when not tested); or

    • When discussed with and recommended by local medical and public health professionals based on the local healthcare system’s capacity.

* Per district administrative rule ADD-R, employees and students will wear a face covering while in indoor common areas (e.g., main office, lobby, hallway, workroom, cafeteria, etc.); while in classrooms; while on district transportation; while attending a school/district related event/activity (e.g., athletic event, performance, field trip, etc.); and while conducting business on behalf of the district (e.g. conducting a home visit, supervising athletic events, etc.). The requirement also applies to visitors while at school/district facilities in indoor common areas (e.g., main office, lobby, hallway, workroom, cafeteria, etc.); while in classrooms; while on district transportation; and while attending a school/district related activity/event (e.g., athletic event, performance, field trip, etc.).

**Individuals are eligible for a booster six months after completing their Pfizer or Moderna vaccination series, or two months after their single-dose of Janssen.
