A Note from Mrs. Shirley
Dear OHE Parents,
I’ve heard the expression, “Days go slow, years go fast” and the older I get, the more I understand this expression!! It seems like this year has gone so quickly and we are once again watching our students grow and change in so many wonderful ways.
For those of you who have fourth grade students moving on to fifth grade….thank you for giving us the privilege of having your students. This class of students is dearly loved and will be missed as leaders on our campus next year. I know some are nervous about leaving but I know they will do amazing things at fifth grade and beyond!!
For kindergarten parents…..you have successfully navigated your first year of school and your child has changed and grown so much!! I know those first few days may have been rough, but look at how independent and successful your student is now!! I’m so proud of how far our kindergarten students have come this year in all areas of their development.
For all those in between….your students are such a joy to have. I have enjoyed watching them grow so much!! They are ready to tackle new challenges and experiences and have learned so much this year. I’m looking forward to having them and seeing their success in the future!!
Summer is upon us!! I hope you plan lots of quality family time. Trips to the park, the library, state parks or other city events are all great ways to spend time together this summer. My other challenge is to find books to read. Reading improves the more it is done so read, read, read this summer!!
Wishing you the very best as we finish out the school year!!

A Note from Mrs. Ditto
Hello OHE Families!
I simply cannot believe how this year has flown by! I have loved being Assistant Principal this year, and I am looking forward to another great year with you. I will miss seeing our students over the summer. I hope you all have plans to spend quality time with family and friends. Before you know it, it will be August and we will be getting ready to be back together at OHE. I wish our 4th graders luck as they prepare to go to 5th grade. Even though they may be nervous about the change, I know they are prepared. We have 14 days of school left this year. Let's finish strong!
Shine Bright,
Mrs. Lynette Ditto

Summer Safety
We want all of our OHE All-Stars to have a safe and fun summer. The button below provides some summer safety tips from the CDC.
Shine Assembly Information
Each month there is a Shine Assembly at OHE. During this assembly, we are recognizing and celebrating students for demonstrating the characteristics on the Profile of an OHE Student. These characteristics are the same as the characteristics on the Profile of a RSD Graduate, but they have adapted for elementary students. Teachers spend time talking about the characteristics and the importance of developing these qualities both for now and for the future. Teachers nominate students who demonstrate one of the qualities in an exemplary way. Students receive stars to put on a carabiner on their backpacks. We try to have a special guest present the stars each month.
