LAUSD Cell Phone Policy
LAUSD Cell Phone Policy
The LAUSD cell phone policy, in effect since February 18, 2025, prohibits students from using their cell phones, smartwatches, and earbuds during the school day, from the first bell to the last. Phones must be turned off and stored in pouches provided by the school. If your child does not have a yondr pouch please reach out to your child's grade level office. We appreciate your support.
Attendance Tracker
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to ensure that all students are attending school on a regular basis. We will keep you posted on student attendance.
🎯 LAUSD and Poly Attendance Goals:
- Excellent (96–100%) → No more than 7 absences all year
- Basic (92–95%) → At risk of falling behind
- Chronic (91% or less) → 15+ absences in a year
📖 Why Attendance Matters:
- Students who attend regularly learn more and succeed more
- Missing just 2 days/month = nearly 10% of the school year
- Too many absences = lower grades & truancy risk
📌 Family Tips:
- Schedule doctor’s appointments after school
- Avoid vacations on school days
- Call the school when your child must be absent
⭐ Goal: No more than 7 absences this year
