Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of May 28, 2023
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS families,
Not only is the sun shining bright outside, but the achievements of our students are radiating in the halls of EHTHS.
Our students had the incredible opportunity to visit the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, DC. This trip was both educational and enlightening, allowing our students to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of the African American community. Thank you Mr. Bell and chaperones who made it a memorable experience for our students.
We want to express our gratitude to Christina Barr and the dedicated staff members who organized an unforgettable party for our MD classrooms. The event was a huge success, with delicious food, beautiful decorations, and engaging games. The students had a fantastic time, and their smiles and positive feedback spoke volumes.
Congratulations to our Girls Crew team lightweights for their outstanding performance at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America's National Championship Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. They won a well-deserved silver medal, showcasing their exceptional skills and dedication. We are proud of their achievements!!
This week, Denise Carreon, Daniel Cirigliano, Marison Cruz, Lana Dallman, Joshua Inman, Leniya Moss and Dayanara Salazar Arce completed ACCC's Math Boot Camp this week. These students demonstrated remarkable commitment by completing an intensive math course, equivalent to a full semester's curriculum, in just one month. Their hard work and determination are truly commendable.
A special congratulations to our Prom Court! Seniors Zoe Sass and Jay Nelly Reyes were crowned King and Queen and Juniors Bradley Smith and Jenna Gray were crowned Prince and Princess. We would like to express our appreciation to Mr. Winkler, the Class of 2024 officers, and all the chaperones for their dedication in organizing an amazing prom night. The event was a resounding success, creating beautiful memories for our students.
We had an extraordinary performance at the Spring Band Concert by the Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Honors Wind Ensemble, and "The Happy Accidentals." Our student conductors, Easton Russ and Bria Walton, deserve a special mention for doing a phenomenal job as guest conductors. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Wyckoff and Mr. Milnes for their efforts in organizing this event.
Congratulations to Sawyer Dilks, Sadia Rahman, Nekita Thaker, Nusaiba Islam, and Krisha Patel for being honored at the Academic Excellence Brunch. Their outstanding achievements are a testament to their hard work and dedication. We wish them the best of luck as they embark on their college journeys.
We would like to extend a heartfelt shout-out to all the students, Band, Football team, and staff who participated in the EHT Memorial Day Parade. It was a wonderful community event and we are proud of everyone's involvement. We also celebrated the community debut of our Therapy Dogs, Marty and Charlie, who brought smiles and comfort to those in attendance.
Next Tuesday, we will honor the students who have earned an unweighted GPA of 90 and above at our Academic Achievement breakfast. Letters were mailed out this week to all of the students who achieved this honor. On Wednesday, we will recognize our seniors who have earned local scholarships at our Senior Award night. We are looking forward to seeing our seniors and their families shine.
We are so proud of our students' achievements and the support provided by our dedicated staff and parent community. Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Carugno

#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
If you'd like more information on #Day1, please go to: https://tylerclementi.org/day1/
