A Message from Mr. Macias
From the Principal's Desk
Hello Gladiator Families!
Another great week in the books in the Gladiator Nation! Our students were hard at work in their classes as we closed out the first six weeks of school. Progress reports will be available in HAC soon, so please take time to review grades with your student. Students also attended the club meetings for various clubs. Our Sewing Club, run by Mrs. Brisko, was a unique mix of students AND teachers learning sewing techniques. The students let me know they had to help the "old" teachers thread their needles because they weren't able to see well enough. Our clubs will continue weekly throughout the school year. Encourage your student to have fun by joining one of our clubs!
Attendance
We celebrated another great week of attendance with PJ Day this past Friday. Our goal is to be at 97% or higher each day. When we average 97% or higher for the WEEK our students earn a pajama day. Also any students who have perfect attendance (no absences or tardies) each three weeks will be allowed to participate in some active time during lunch in the gym and on the blacktop. They love these incentives, so make sure they're at school every day!
Reminders
Our students have been doing a fantastic job of keeping their phones/electronics put away for the day. Students are required to put away all phones, iPads, gaming units, smart glasses, smartwatches and headphones/ear buds in their backpack when they are released to first period at 8:30 AM. Students are not allowed to wear any communication devices or access them from 8:30 am -3:55 pm while in the cafeteria, hallway, classrooms, locker rooms, restrooms, offices or any other locations on campus.
Please ensure that your student is within dress code every school day. Students should wear shirts long enough to cover their midriff and no undergarments should be visible.
National IT Professionals Day
Shout out to our TSS, Pushpa Vallabhu! She keeps our technology running each day for students and staff, but that's not all! She also helps with 6th grade lunch duty! Thank you to Pushpa for all you do for our campus!
Northside Education Foundation Donations
It’s time for our NEF Annual Fundraising Campaign! Our campaign runs from September 14th through October 5th, and our campus goal is a minimum $1,000. Flyers are attached below.
I look forward to another great week!
