A Note from the Principal A Note from the Principal

My name is Julie Gault, and I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Elmhurst community as your new principal! I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this school, and I feel truly honored to become part of such a talented, caring, and dedicated team.

A little bit about me: I’m a wife and a proud mom of six. This year marks my 25th year in education. During this time I’ve had the privilege of serving students and families in many roles over the years, from classroom teacher to reading coach, and eventually into school leadership. Before returning to TPS, I spent the last 10 years as the principal at Sylvan Elementary in Sylvania. Prior to that, I served as principal at Reynolds Elementary for five years and began my administrative journey as assistant principal at Larchmont.

I’m passionate about building strong relationships, creating a safe and supportive learning environment, and ensuring every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make this school year an exceptional one for our students.

Warmly,
Julie Gault
Principal, Elmhurst Elementary

Important Updates

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we kindly ask all families to review the Student Handbook, as some important updates have been made.

Key changes to note include:

  • New Start Time: Our school day will now begin at 9:05 AM. Please ensure your child arrives on time and is ready to start the day.

  • Updated Cell Phone Policy: In response to Ohio House Bill 250, all schools across the state are implementing new policies to reduce classroom distractions and support focused learning.

    • At the K–8 level, including Elmhurst, students will be required to check in their phones each morning into a secure lockbox, where they will be stored during the school day. Devices will be returned at dismissal.

This district-wide change is aligned with Governor DeWine’s call for action to improve student engagement and limit digital distractions during school hours.

We appreciate your support in helping us implement these changes smoothly. The full handbook will be available HERE and on our website. We encourage all families to review it together with their child.
