Bogota Middle School Update
September 13, 2024
Essentials
We have just concluded our first full week of school for the year, and I want to thank everyone for their cooperation. This past Wednesday, we held an assembly to honor those lost on September 11th and learned about the history surrounding that day.
As we continue moving forward, please keep the following in mind:
- Arrival Time: Students should be entering the building by 8:10 AM to allow enough time to prepare before first period.
- Uniform Policy: Students should be in the proper school uniform. With colder weather approaching, please refer to the uniform policy below to ensure compliance with acceptable attire. Absolutely no logos on sweatshirts are permitted unless they are sponsored by Bogota Middle School or the Bogota School District.
- Health and Readiness: Ensure your child is having breakfast each morning and getting a good night's sleep. It's important that all students arrive with a fully charged Chromebook each day.
We are committed to making great strides this year in preparing our students for the future. Our goal is to cultivate honest, hardworking individuals ready to rise to life's many challenges.
Please note that students will receive detention if they are late, not in uniform, or arrive without a Chromebook or a charged Chromebook. These rules are part of helping our students grow. Learning to understand consequences is an important part of preparing for adulthood. Detentions will be served at 7:30am in room 206.
All important lunch forms need to be filled out. You can view more information about lunch forms by clicking the button below.
Media/Picture Consent Form
Please make sure to complete the media consent form on your Realtime Parent Portal as soon as possible. We’re doing so many amazing things at Bogota Middle School and we want to share our students' achievements with the community.
Code of Conduct
The BMS Code of Conduct, located in your child’s planner, must be signed by both the student and parent and returned by Friday, September 27th.

There will be an Interest Meeting for the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) on September 16th. This meeting is for 6th and 7th graders who are not yet members of NJHS at dismissal in room 113.
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) promotes a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. It helps middle school students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become well-rounded leaders in their school, community, and beyond.
If you have any questions after the interest meeting, please reach out to Mrs. Shepherd or Mrs. Tomlinson, who are in charge of this program.
