Rest when needed...
In a world that prizes "the grind," we often treat rest like a luxury we have to earn. We tell ourselves we’ll take a break once the inbox is empty or once the project is signed off. But an empty tank can't take you to your destination.
True renewal isn’t just about sleep; it’s about a holistic reset. When we neglect one part of ourselves, the others eventually falter. This week, we’re exploring how to honor the three pillars of the quote:
Renew the Body: Movement that feels like a gift, not a chore.
Refresh the Mind: Finding "stillpoint" moments in a loud world.
Restore the Spirit: Reconnecting with the why behind your what.
The Challenge
This week, I invite you to find one "weary" spot in your life. Don't push through it. Don't caffeinate it. Just sit with it, refresh it, and notice how much sharper your tools are when you finally do get back to work.

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
What you say...
Good morning!
I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the wonderful weather! A little cold front to help cool things down but unbelievable that my thoughts are now, "time to turn on the sprinklers and then be the first "dad" to put on the Nike Air Monarchs to start mowing to create peer pressure for the neighbors to do the same" :) I also want to thank everyone who made district speech a huge success. It takes a village and dedicated individuals to pull things off like that and it was an amazing day. Congratulations to our coaches and our students on an amazing season and good luck as you prep for state! There is a showcase at 4pm for anyone interested taking in some last practice time! Also, congrats to our track team who had a successful first meet at Concordia and good luck to our Boy's Golf as competition is right around the corner for them!
"Rest when you are weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work." These words are a vital compass for a community as dedicated as ours. To our incredible staff, we see the heart you pour into every lesson, every hallway conversation, and every student who needs a little extra grace. In a field fueled by giving, it is easy to forget that you cannot pour from an empty cup. This is your reminder that rest is not a sign of weakness; it is a vital part of your professional excellence. When you take the time to refresh your spirit, you aren't just helping yourself—you are ensuring that you can continue to be the steady, inspiring presence our students rely on.
That same spirit of dedication is reflected in our students, who continue to give their all to grow and navigate the challenges of each day. We are proud of your ambition, but remember: your mind needs quiet to absorb what you’ve learned. Be kind to yourselves. When the books feel heavy and the days feel long, give yourself permission to step away for a bit. Renewal isn’t a distraction from your goals; it’s the very fuel that will help you reach them.
This journey of growth is only possible because of the unwavering foundation provided by our patrons and families. To the parents and supporters working tirelessly to provide for your homes while cheering on your children: we know how much you carry. By taking a moment to restore your own mind and spirit, you set a powerful example of balance and resilience for the next generation. This week, we invite our entire SRC community to take up a simple challenge: Find ten minutes today to do something purely for renewal—not for productivity. Breathe, reset, and only then, get back to the important work of building our future together.
Have a great rest of your week!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Rest when you're weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your spirit. Then get back to work"
Ralph Marston
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
