Private tutoring for emerging readers and writers entering grades 1-3.
1-2 lessons per week (1hr)
In our sessions we will work on our young learners seeing themselves as readers and writers. Unlocking the written code can be hard work! We will learn all about how books work. We will explore narrative story structure and informational structure. I truly believe when students have a deep understanding of how stories work and why authors write, they begin to see themselves in that light as well. We ALL have important stories worth writing and telling- students can write themselves into readers! Sessions will explore all of these ideas through an integrated approach to reading, writing, and word study, tailored to each reader and writer's needs.
