Nine Steps to More Effective Parenting


1. Boost your child's self-esteem by treating them with dignity and respect.


2. Catch kids being good. Notice what you want to see more of.


3. Set clear limits and be consistent with your discipline.


4. Make time to connect with your kids.


5. Be a good role model. Model the traits you wish to see in your kids.


6. Make communication with your kids a priority.


7. Be flexible and willing to adjust your parenting style to meet your child’s needs.


8. Let your parenting reflect unconditional love for your child.


9. Know your own needs and limitations as a parent. Model self-care for your child.

Meet Our Bears! Meet Our Bears!

Ms. Kim Westphal

Every week we want to introduce you to a fabulous Bear that works at Bayyari. We have some of the best teachers and staff in the world and we can't wait for you to get to know them!


Kim Westphal was raised in Mountain View, Missouri. This is her seventeenth year teaching. Ms. Westphal graduated from the School of the Ozarks with a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language.


When not teaching, Ms. Westphal enjoys camping and hiking. She also enjoys riding bikes and quilting.
