Message from Mr. Karmazin, Principal Message from Mr. Karmazin, Principal

Week of February 10th, 2025

Bears of Bryan Middle,

We want to remind families that there will be no school on Friday (2/14) for a Teacher Curriculum Day, as our staff engages in professional development to enhance student learning. Additionally, there will be no school on Monday (2/17). Enjoy the long weekend!

As we are past the midpoint of 3rd quarter, it’s a great time to talk about the importance of student engagement in learning. Research shows that when students actively participate in their education—by asking questions, collaborating with peers, and completing assignments—they retain more information and develop the critical thinking skills needed for future success.

Here are a few ways families can support student engagement at home:
✅ Encourage curiosity – Ask your student about what they’re learning and have them explain concepts in their own words.
✅ Create a homework routine – Setting aside time and space for schoolwork can help students stay on track.
✅ Use available resources – Encourage students to take advantage of Paper Tutoring, Academic Recovery, and after-school support.
✅ Celebrate progress – Recognizing effort and improvement (not just final grades) can boost motivation.

We appreciate your continued partnership in helping our students stay engaged and successful! If you have any questions, please reach out.

Mr. Karmazin
Principal, Bryan Middle School
