Reaching Higher
August 30,2026
Message from the Principal
I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend! As we look forward to week 2, there is a lot to build on after a successful start to the school year! Our Rockets had a fantasic first week at the middle school, demonstrating Respect, Pride, and Integrity while building the foundations of a positive school culture.
This week we will be back in full swing starting on Monday with full days of school. Check out the details below, including information on our open house this week, and reach out to the main office with any questions.
Sincerely,
Jason Hernandez
Absences
We appreciate the communication our office is receiving when your child is not able to come to school. In some cases, when information is left on the absent voicemail it may take some time to process and input the information. Please allow us 24 hours to ensure attendance is accurate before calling in to verify attendance. We will continue to do our very best to make sure attendance is accurate and completed in a timely manner. Additionally, please make sure to communicate through the office when your students must be picked up from school. This will help us to ensure your child's safety.
Student Drop Off
To help our morning circle drive run like clockwork, we need a quick assist from our drivers:
Fill the gaps: Pull all the way forward so more cars can unload at once.
Ready, set, go: Make sure students are gathered up and ready to hop out as soon as the car stops.
Thank you for navigating the morning rush with patience and courtesy, keeping our students safe takes all of us!
Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Our goal for drop off and pick up is to ensure the safety of students and staff while providing an efficient process. Please read the reminders below to support this process.
Pull all the way forward in the circle drive, as far as possible.
Make sure your student is ready to exit the car in the morning, and quick to enter the car after school.
Please do not park in the circle drive.
Avoid dropping students off in the bus area after 7:30 (see diagram).
Be patient and drive slowly in all parking lots. Staff and students are walking in parking lots before and after school, we need to ensure their safety.
Ride with Pride
Students at RPMS will be provided information regarding our Ride with Pride pledge this week. Students that successfully follow the pledge will be entered into drawings through out the school year, including the grand prizes of a game system, Michigan Adventure season passes, electric scooter, and more. Many students signed the pledge at registration and we currently have 63% of our studentbody that have made the pledge to Ride With Pride. This is our best start ever!!
Our goal is to surpass 70% for the year. Any students that haven't turn in a Ride With Pride pledge will have until Friday, September 11th to do so.

Nut-Free Zone
To ensure the safety of all students, especially those with nut allergies, we'll be designating specific classrooms and cafeteria tables as nut-free zones. These areas will be clearly marked for everyone's awareness (See signage below).
We kindly ask that students refrain from bringing nuts or nut-containing products into these areas. If your child has a nut allergy, please inform the office and their teachers if you've not done so already.
Here are some tips to help your child maintain a safe environment in the nut-free zones:
- Remind your child to check labels carefully for ingredients containing nuts.
- Discuss the importance of not sharing food with classmates.
- Encourage your child to wash their hands and avoid touching communal food items.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us create a safe and inclusive learning space for all students.
