Dear Heritage Parents,
It is amazing to me that we are down to the last week of March! Time flies when you're having fun! We have begun the last 9-weeks of the 2023-2024 school year! Just a reminder that next week is a short school week as we have NO SCHOOL on Friday and NO SCHOOL the following Monday (April 1). I hope all of you have a great weekend!

LISD plans to experience this historic event with students on April 8.

On Monday, April 8, Dallas will be the largest city in the path of totality for the once-in-a-lifetime Great North American Eclipse. We are excited to share this milestone with our students! Staff members are incorporating this event into their lesson plans to enhance the educational experience for all students. Review the following information regarding the district's plans for safe eclipse viewing:

Grades PreK-2
It is not recommended that our youngest students view the eclipse outside. Instead, PreK-2 students will have the opportunity to watch NASA's live stream of the eclipse. We encourage you to view NASA’s other online resources to explain this event to your students.

Grades 3-12
Students in grades 3-12 will have the option to view the eclipse outside. The Perot Museum has generously donated protective eyewear, which all students will be required to wear. For more information about how to view the eclipse safely, click here.

If you have a child that will be 5 on, or before September 1st, it is time to register them for Kindergarten! Log onto your current Skyward account and complete the “New Student Enrollment”. Our student enrollment drives the number of staff we have at each grade level. Kinder is always the wildcard so register early and spread the word so we can plan accordingly!

Thursday - James Wand Magic show for all students

Friday - NO School (Good Friday)

Monday (April 1) - NO School. Designated as a bad weather day, and we did not use it.
