JBE News, Updates and Dates
What to expect in this Newsletter-
- Below you will find images for a lot of upcoming events. Please ask your students teacher or call the JBE Office if you have questions! We encourage family involvement, please read the expectations to know if younger siblings are allowed and if an RSVP is requested.
- MAP Scores for our 4th & 5th grade students will be going home in Friday Folders this Friday (9/4).
- 4th & 5th Grade Student Council Elections are this Friday, September 4th. We have A LOT of students running and only 8 spots. Please reinforce to your student that it is brave to run and that it is not mathematically possible for all students to make it on student council. We will also stress that we are proud of everyone for being brave enough to throw their hat in the ring and that even if you aren't on student council there are several ways that students can be leaders at JBE.
- Friday Folders will come home each Friday and often contain important information. Please make it a priority to check the folder and return needed documentation promptly.
- Milk is $0.50 - Please send in a labeled envelope.
- If you are interested in a QR Code for your student to use to access iReady an online math and reading resource, please contact your students teacher.
Mark Your Calendar for Upcoming Dates -

Even Willie the Wildcat is prepared to show his ID! Student safety is always our priority. While our regular office staff may know you, there are times when substitutes or other staff members are helping in the office and at dismissal. That’s why we ask everyone to bring a photo ID when signing out a student. Thank you for helping us keep our Wildcats safe!
Message from Central Office
We are off to a great start to the 2026–2027 school year! As we begin a new school year, we would like to share a few important reminders regarding student dismissals and transportation changes in the MCR-2 buildings.
Bus Changes: All bus changes must be communicated to the school office prior to 2:00 p.m.
Early Pick-Up: In accordance with Board Policy, a valid photo ID must be presented in the school office when picking up a student early.
Authorized Pick-Up: Students will only be released to parents or guardians listed in the student’s records unless the parent or guardian has communicated with the school office
prior to pick-up to authorize an alternate arrangement.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us make student safety our number one priority! We appreciate your partnership in keeping our students safe and ensuring a smooth dismissal process
Attendance is Important to Your Students Learning
Please make sure that you call in (833-662-6228 press 5 then press 1) prior to 8:30 if your child is going to be absent so that we can record the reason before we begin making contact. If communication is not received in regard to student absences a few things may happen.
- You will receive an automated message letting you know your student is absent.
- You may receive a personal call from our office staff.
- You may receive a visit from our SRO, or Kylee Waite, our MCR2 Social Worker.
- You will receive our 3-day, 5-day and 8-day attendance letters regardless of calling in. These letters are board policy and are sent to all student families when they hit the 3, 5, & 8 day threshold.
- As a building we are striving to be higher than a 95% average EACH MONTH.
Specials Schedule
Tuesday - Library (bring your checked out books back)
Wednesday - Music
Thursday - Art
Friday - PE (Wear tennis shoes - no sandals, crocs, boots, etc.)

JBE Brain & Body Lab
We are so excited to announce that THIS WEEK our Kindergarten - 2nd grade students will begin their rotations through our Brain & Body Lab on Tuesday and Thursday each week.
Why Are We Starting a Brain & Body Lab?
Movement helps prepare the brain for learning! In our Brain & Body Lab, students will practice skills such as balance, coordination, and crossing the middle of the body. These activities can strengthen focus, visual tracking, and communication between both sides of the brain. Research shows that strong motor skills can also support reading and classroom success. Our goal is to build a strong foundation for every student while helping their brains and bodies grow together.
Free & Reduced Lunch Forms
There are a few days left to get your Free & Reduced Lunch Forms turned in to be in the September 11th Drawing. If you turned them in at another building or qualify another way, we already have your name in the drawing.
