Our Cornwall School song starts with “I know a place where I belong…” Next week at Harvest Fest, we will start the “festivities” by singing our song together. We welcome all the volunteers who help to make Harvest Fest a joyful shared experience for our kids to sing with us. You might want to bring a tissue; it still chokes me up.

I know a place where I belong,

at Cornwall School

I’m growing up, I’m feeling strong

at Cornwall School

My friends are always right beside me,

We learn together as one

at Cornwall School,

Cornwall School.

Dare to dream.

Dreams come true here.

You can do it if you try

At Cornwall school.

With gratitude,

Nadya

Third Grade

Following a tradition that was put in place long before I arrived at Cornwall School, each Wednesday of September, the third grade travels to the Knoll at Middlebury College. The Knoll is a student garden that is designed and maintained by Megan Brakeley and college interns. The experiences we have at the Knoll lay the foundation for learning that will continue throughout the school year. Students have explored the garden beds, harvested skunk beans and calendula flowers and examined the landscape that was once, believe it or not, a saltwater sea!

As we harvest, we cannot help but think about the interconnectedness of food chains and the role we play.
