VICE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
What a February we have had! We had a month filled with reading and each class got to participate in writing a story about Dora the Explorer. We had guest readers join us for assemblies, our Superintendent Mr. Thiessen and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Peters. As well we had three Pistons join classrooms and read to our students. We also had the Grade 5 & 6 students from MMS join us for a special assembly with Corny Rempel. We saw lots of entries for the prize draws for reading. Great job everyone, keep reading!
We have also been fortunate to see a week of warmer weather. After two weeks of indoor recess we were able to have outdoor recess all week. Please be mindful of the ice around the school yard as we are seeing the snow melt. We also encourage students to continue to bring their winter gear despite the warmer weather. If you are missing any outdoor gear please come and check the lost and found as the pile continues to grow.
As we are in March we will have report cards coming out and will be available on the Parent Portal on March 19th. Parent teacher meetings will be on March 25th by request, if you would like to have a meeting with your child's teacher please reach out to set up a meeting. Looking ahead to the end of the month we will be having Spring Break from March 31- April 4. Have an amazing month!
EXTRA CLOTHING
CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER
Our chocolate fundraiser will start shortly.
We are again selling World’s Finest Chocolates. This year there will be chocolate covered almonds
only for your child to sell. All cases are peanut-free. Each case will have 30 boxes which sell for $3
a box for a total of $90 for a case.
1 case will be sent home with the oldest in each family on March 24th, however if you would like
to have more than 1 case or wish to not participate, a form will be sent out shortly. Please fill it
in as needed and submit by March 14th.
For every case you sell, you will win a prize at our “PULL A STRING BOOTH”, plus your name is
entered to win in our random draws. Now, if that’s not enough, you also have the chance to win one of the grand prizes of first, second, or third for the most cases sold.

RECYCLE YOUR BATTERIES
Earth Rangers and Recycle Your Batteries Canada are partnering on a program where elementary schools in Manitoba will compete for who can collect the most used batteries and for the chance to win 1 of 3 amazing cash prizes. Your School’s Mission is to recycle as many used batteries as you can by encouraging students, parents, staff, and community members to bring their used batteries to your school and deposit them into the Call2Recycle collection boxes.
There is a box set up outside the school office for you to bring your batteries from March 3 - April 11.
