St Joseph's Catholic Primary School
Newsletter 17.7.26
This week...
As we come to the end of our year, we have so much to celebrate across our school and nursery.
What a wonderful year we've had!
Highlights for me include: our participation in the BWCAT singing concert at St John Fisher's; the team-building skills we see in our forest school sessions; the festive community cheer during our Carols around the Christmas Tree event; the children's resilience during our Mini London Marathon; and the sheer amount of children continually coming to my office to share amazing learning and achievements!
After feedback from families, we have tried to include as many dates on our newsletter as possible (see upcoming dates below), to help you with planning family/work/school logistics. We hope this will be more helpful for you.
We thank you for your involvement and positivity this year. Working in a school can be demanding but it makes such a difference to us when staff receive little messages of support or gratitude. We are very blessed to have such wonderful families in our St Joseph's school community.
We can't wait to see what joys next year will bring...
Thank you, as always, for supporting us to
Live, love and learn with the Lord.
Mrs Ronicle
Virtue
Our current virtue is: Service
If your child shows our virtues at home, please do let us know so we can celebrate that in school/nursery too!
Leavers' Mass
It was a delight to see our super Year 6 children leading our Leavers' Mass on Wednesday, for our whole school and Tadcaster parish. Thank you, also, to Tadcaster Churches Together, who gave the gift of a Holy Bible to each of our children - we know they will treasure these.
New dining furniture!
This week, we took delivery of our brand new dining furniture! Our children enjoyed using them for the first time - how exciting!
Thank you and goodbye...
We say goodbye to Deborah Welch and Mary-Jane Murray this summer, who are both stepping down from their roles in our Academy Council. They have both served our school community superbly for many years, and we are very grateful for the time, support and expertise they have given St Joseph's over the years! We hope you both go on to enjoy the next chapters of your lives!
End of Year Awards
Thank you to those of you that joined us for our End of Year Celebration Assembly this morning! We are thrilled to announce our worthy award winners below. We nominated children as a staff team and it took us ages to decide upon final winners, because we had SO MANY super contenders! Well done to all our winners!
This week, we have been learning...
St Francis Class (Nursery / Preschool)
This week in St Francis Nursery, we have enjoyed a fantastic final week of summer fun! We loved visiting the roleplay ice cream shop, cooling off with lots of exciting water play, and bringing in our own toys to share with our friends!
We have had such a fabulous year in nursery, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our nursery families and the school community for your continued support throughout the year!
To all of our children who are moving on, we wish you the very best of luck in your new adventures. We are so proud of everything you have achieved and know you will all continue to shine. We hope you all have a wonderful summer!
St Bernadette Class (Reception / Y1/ Y2)
St Bernadette have had a fantastic final week, with lots of learning and celebration! The (slightly) cooler weather has meant that we could enjoy lots of outdoor learning and have been exploring position and direction (maths) enjoying PE, teamwork activities and sharing stories out on the field. Keep learning over the summer everyone!
St Patrick Class (Year 3/4)
St Therese Class (Year 5/6)
This week, we have been working on a project in Maths where we have been running our own businesses! It has been fun to design our product, calculate expenses and organise a staff rota.
