TrailBlazer Bulletin for Feb 5-9

Dear Trail Blazer Community
2024-2025 New Student and Kinder Registration
Families moving to Frisco ISD, registering incoming kindergartners or re-enrolling former students can start enrolling for the 2024-25 school year on Tuesday, Feb. 13. on the 2024-25 New Enrollment webpage.
Parents of current students, including those enrolled in the FISD prekindergarten program, will receive invitation emails to register for the 2024-25 school year in April. Also starting in April, Frisco ISD will begin registering qualifying 4-year-olds for pre-K.
Fostering Resilience in Youth
Frisco ISD parents are invited to a resilience presentation that will include strategies that can be used to build confidence and perseverance in youth. Learning to handle challenges and adversity is a part of human development and success. However, adults unintentionally limit our children’s resilience development because we want to provide ease and comfort. The presentation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 6-7:15 p.m. at the FISD Administration Building. RSVP is appreciated but not required.
Community Shout Outs
Please continue to recognize the work that teachers & coaches do using this form. Our teachers sure do appreciate it!
Community Review of Science Adoption Materials
FISD invites the community to a public showcase of the state-adopted instructional materials being considered for K-12 science classes. The State Board of Education issued a proclamation that mandates the adoption of new science instructional materials available to students in the 2024-25 school year. The public viewing will be Feb. 13 4-6 p.m. at the FISD Athletic Office. Learn more.
Weather Procedures
School closures are sometimes necessary to ensure the safety of Frisco ISD students and staff. FISD makes a final decision about whether to open schools no later than 5:30 a.m. each school day. Frisco ISD will notify families via email and text. Parents and staff can subscribe to FISD text messages by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587. The District and campus websites will also be updated with alerts of school closures, as well as the District’s Facebook and X accounts. Learn more.
Eclipse Planning
Frisco ISD is excited to engage students on the topic of the eclipse that will occur on Monday, April 8. The District has certified solar viewing glasses purchased for all students and staff in anticipation of the unique learning opportunity. More details will be shared as the big day approaches.
