Message from Nicole Pease, Principal
Hello DCS famililes, what a week! I am not a big fan of the time change and the "spring ahead" is my least favorite. I do hope someday we will not go through this nonsense! The Teacher Workshop days were very informative and will help us continue to grow as professionals. While a 3 day week feels like it will be easy, my belief is that we still fit 5 days into the shorter week and this was proven true! I am so very thankful for our supportive community. Districts around us are struggling to have their budgets pass and ours continues to be supported. I know we have challenges ahead but for right now I am savoring the positive outcome. We started our shortened week with a trip to the Colonial Theater, many students were in some fancy outfits, and all enjoyed the show! That evening we held an Owl Prowl with the Harris Center, and learned lots about owls, sadly we did not have any owls call back to us, but we got some pratice in to better our owl calls. Today's visit from Lucky the Leprchaun is one of the most joyous experiences at DCS. The excitement and wonder at how this trickster manages all the mischief right under our noses is precious to experience. I hope you have a lovely weekend, Nicole

Visitor to 3rd Grade
This was a very special experience for the 3rd graders and for me. This is my son Zach Pease who spent many hours birding as an elementary student, he was even part of a Young Birderrs Club. He came to the 3rd grade classroom to share his pictures and special nests, and the important message of "stop and look around, you never know what you might see"! The 3rd graders were wonderful participants and I hope Zach will come back again soon!
