Weekly Update 8-29
8/22/25

August 29, 2015
Dear Oak Brook Families,
It is hard to believe that we are already turning the calendar to September! The first two weeks of school have been a tremendous success, and it has been such a joy to see our students back in the building, reconnecting with friends, meeting new classmates, and engaging in learning with enthusiasm. Our teachers and staff have worked hard to create welcoming, supportive classrooms, and we are so proud of the positive energy that has filled our school as the year begins.
As we return from the Labor Day weekend, students will begin to settle into more of a consistent routine. These next few weeks are an important time for establishing strong habits—both in the classroom and at home—that set the tone for the rest of the year. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help every child feel successful, confident, and excited to learn. We look forward to all that September will bring!
Just a reminder, we do not have school on Monday. Be looking for our character education update early next week.
We hope you and your family have an enjoyable extended weekend.
Sincerely,
Katie & Chris

Oak Brook Night at Busch Stadium - Order Your Tickets ASAP!
If you haven't ordered your tickets for Oak Brook Night at Busch Stadium on September 16th, don't forget to do that. We have a designated number of tickets to sell so our students can experience singing at the stadium. We hope you can join us.
Spirit Night
Focus on Character
This week we will focus on respect. Respect is one of our core values, and we define it as seeing good in people and things and treating them with care.
One of the most powerful ways to teach respect is by modeling it in daily interactions. Children notice how we speak to others, how we listen, and how we handle disagreements. By showing kindness, patience, and courtesy—even in challenging moments—we are teaching children the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. When they see us practicing respect consistently, they are more likely to mirror those same behaviors in their own relationships.
