Sign Up Now to Volunteer this Year
We are super excited to announce that the volunteer form has become electronic across all schools in PLSD. This means that the paper forms that have been used in the past will no longer be used to sign up to be a volunteer. You can easily sign up to be a volunteer right now by using the QR code below or the link provided. If you have been a volunteer in the past, you must sign up again. Volunteer approvals are only good for the school year in which you signed up.

Girls on the Run
Want to guarantee your child a spot on the Girls on the Run team at Sycamore Creek Elementary? Volunteer to be a coach this fall! Girls on the Run is a fun, inspiring after-school program just for 3rd and 4th grade girls that helps build confidence and important life skills. As a coach, your child will automatically have a spot on the team — no need to enter the lottery. Become a PoPP!
PoPPs Volunteer Push (August 25-29 and January 2026)
We would like your assistance in promoting this program through your building-level newsletters and social media platforms
Parents on Positivity Patrol (PoPP) is a volunteer program that brings more caring adults into our schools to support students and staff. Parent volunteers play a vital role in education—not only as valuable resources for teachers but also as role models who show students that school is important and worth their time and effort.
Through PoPP, parents have the opportunity to actively engage in the schools their children attend, fostering a strong sense of community. By spreading encouragement and building positive relationships, PoPP volunteers help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
Join PoPP today and be a catalyst for change. Together, we’ll shape a brighter future—one uplifting interaction at a time.

Counselor's Corner
Instructional Coach
Hello Families,
Last week, I included a family letter for our reading program; Great Minds Wit and Wisdom. This week, I am including a welcome letter for Great Minds Eureka Math.
Your child’s teacher will be sending home quarterly letters that give more information about what your child will be learning. Hope this helps!
Clinic Updates
Reminder from the School Nurse
Please make sure your child keeps an extra set of clothing in their bookbag. The clinic does not have spare clothing to provide, and if a change of clothes is needed, we will need to contact a parent or guardian to bring some in.
We have extra clothing for emergency situation but unfortunately cannot provide them to every single student.
