Happy New Year! School Resumes Monday, January 5th!
Communicating About Snow Days
December was a wild weather month and it wasn't even winter yet! Now that January is here, we want to remind families of what to expect when there is a road or weather related delay.
In the event that inclement weather and/or road conditions necessitate an emergency closure BUT those conditions are anticipated to improve within a few hours, the Kellogg School District may choose to implement a 2 hour late start for all schools in the district. Because this is a different from a normal full day “Snow Day” closure, the following information is being provided.
As in the case of regular emergency closures, mass notifications via text/phone/email/push notification, TV news, social media posts and website updates will be used to communicate the information.
All bus routes will be delayed 2 hours. Questions regarding when a bus will be picking up can be referred to the bus garage (208-784-0061).
School start time will be exactly 2 hours late (KHS will start at 10:05, KMS @ 9:55, PES @ 9:40, CES @ 10:00). THERE WILL BE NO AM PRESCHOOL on late start days.
Breakfast will not be served in any of the buildings in the event of a 2 hour late start.
Lunch will be served at the normal times.
School will be released at regular dismissal time.
Decisions to hold after school programs & extra-curricular activities will be made at the building level and will be communicated to students and parents as soon as the decision is made.
Please keep in mind that the decision to delay the start of the school day, or declare an emergency “snow day” is never taken lightly. The safety of our students, families and staff members is of paramount importance. We appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding when these decisions are made.
Please let the district office know if you have any questions regarding the 2 hour late start for inclement weather or road conditions.
How to find out if we have a weather-related delay/closing:
- Download the KSD mobile app and enable push notifications
- Check our website or social media pages
- Confirm your contact information is up-to-date with your child's school in order to receive phone call, text and email notifications.
Congratulations KSD VFW Award Winners!

Congratulations to all of our students and staff for representing Kellogg School District with pride and excellence.
2025 KSD Holiday Concert
Unfortunately, due to the windstorm, the All School Christmas Concert was cancelled. We are hopeful that this event can be rescheduled for after break because holiday music still sounds amazing in January and we would love to see our students and music teachers showcase their hard work!
