Green Meadow Autumn Walks
K-3 Autumn Walk
The Green Meadow K-3 Autumn Walk is Friday, October 30, from 8:45 - 9:10 AM, and families are invited to attend to enjoy some seasonal fun. Our students will exit the door in the Grade 3 hallway and follow the path along the kindergarten classrooms. Given the narrow walkway in this area, we ask that families leave this path clear for our students. From here, students will use our crosswalk to circle around the staff parking lot fence and re-enter the bus circle though the path. Students will walk along the bus circle to the Library entrance to return to their classrooms.
Families are invited to line up along the route, including the parking lot fence. Please see the map below. A student from each class will be carrying a class sign.
This event will be canceled if it rains. Students may still wear a costume to school. We will hold a student-only inside event. Due to spacing constraints, we cannot have families attend if the event is moved inside. We will communicate any changes that morning.
Preschool Autumn Walk
Our Preschool will be having their Autumn walk on Thursday, October 29, at 2:20 PM, and preschool families are invited to cheer students on. Parents will be asked to sign-in when they enter the lobby and then go to the courtyard through the doors near our cafeteria. Students will get in their costumes at school and follow their walking route from their classrooms. Parents will be able to dismiss their preschool children at the end of the event. Please do not try to sign out older children to attend this event. We try to keep this event small and preschool friendly. Thanks for your support!
Families must park in the Crowe Park lot or at Fowler School. Please do not park along Tiger Drive, in the Staff parking lot, or in the bus circle.
The Staff parking lot must remain clear because it is part of our walking route.
New Green Meadow Update
The new school building is right on schedule and we are very excited to move over December vacation week! The new furniture will start arriving in November, and the vendors will be assembling everything so we are ready for our first day in our new space. Below are some photos from this week in the new space.
Families will be invited to a Meet & Greet at the new Green Meadow, on Tuesday, January 5, from 2:00 - 2:30 PM, to see the new school and visit new classroom spaces. This event will be for our current students and families. We will hold a community open house in the new school at a later date.
The community will be invited for an walkthrough of our current school building on Sunday, December 6, from 11:00 - 12:00 PM (rain date on Sunday, December 13). We hope that people can join us before attending the Maynard Holiday Parade.
Purple Pinky Day
We want to thank all of the Green Meadow families who participated in Purple Pinky Day this year.
Below is a photo of some of the students from the National Honor Society at Maynard High School who volunteered during Grade 1 recess on Thursday. 100% of the funds raised go directly to polio prevention and care.
We Are Hiring!
We are hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to work with our educational team. In this role, applicants may support one to four students across school settings with academic skills, social skills, transitions, and school access. Special Education Paraprofessionals are part of a team of educators that include general education teachers, special education teachers, service providers, and other paraprofessionals. This is a great full-time opportunity for anyone in a graduate program looking to gain experience before moving into an educational role after graduation. Interested applicants should email Kate Murray at kmurray@maynard.k12.ma.us.
The Maynard Public Schools anticipates hiring Daily Substitutes for the 2026-2027 school year. This role provides flexibility. Daily Substitutes can determine which days, which grade-levels, and which of the three schools they would like to work in. For more information, please email Kate Murray, kmurray@maynard.k12.ma.us, or Colleen Andrade, candrade@maynard.k12.ma.us.
