OHS Community School

At Orange High School, our Community School is all about connection and support. We work to bridge the gap between parents, students, staff and community partners to remove barriers that get in the way of learning. By caring for the whole child, we help every student feel seen, supported, and ready to succeed.

Parent Engagement

We’re excited to share that our parent group, New Horizons, held their first planning meeting of the year! They are already working on some wonderful activities, starting with a special Welcome Back Brunch for our staff. We are so grateful for their support and commitment to our school community. If you would like to get involved or sign up to be part of New Horizons, please reach out to me—I’d love to connect with you!

Community Engagement

We’re looking forward to launching our parent education series with the Latino Family Literacy Program, beginning October 8th. This 10-week program uses the book Graciela’s Dream to explore storytelling, reading, and the value of education. Classes meet Wednesdays at Orange High School in Room 300 and are open to parents, guardians, and community members committed to supporting student achievement through connection, learning, and growth. Register here or contact the school office.

Love Orange 2025 – Citywide Volunteer Event

Join us on Saturday, October 11th for the annual Love Orange volunteer day! This citywide event brings together families, students, and community members to give back through service projects across Orange. The day kicks off right here at Orange High School at 7:30 AM with an inspiring rally before we head out to our project sites. It’s a wonderful way to show pride in our city and connect with others.

Community Resource Center -Opening Soon!

We’re excited to announce that our Community Resource Center is almost ready to open its doors! Thanks to the generous donations from our local community partners, we will have food, hygiene items, and other essentials available for families. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where needs can be met with dignity and care. If you or someone you know could benefit from these resources, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

Giving Parents a Voice

At Orange High, we believe that parents are essential partners in student success. This year, we’ve begun gathering feedback from parents to better understand their needs and how we can support them as they support their students. Your voice matters, and together we can continue building a strong, caring school community.
