Five Great Ways to Be Awesome! Five Great Ways to Be Awesome!

Ms. Adams-Paul Ms. Adams-Paul

In our third-grade classroom, we are learning about our “Five Great Ways to Be Awesome!”

Each week, we explore one of our five character-building values through a story or short video, followed by meaningful class discussions. Our five values are:

  • Never Give Up
  • Be True to Yourself
  • Expand Your Horizons
  • Do the Right Thing
  • Help Others

We also keep reflection journals where students write about things they are proud of, things they are grateful for, and which of our five values they practiced throughout the week. Sharing our reflections leads to wonderful, inspiring discussions and helps us recognize the positive choices we make every day.

One of our favorite videos is Kindness Boomerang, available on YouTube. It reminds us how one small act of kindness can inspire others to spread kindness, too!

Our goal is to help students grow not only as learners, but also as kind, thoughtful, and caring individuals. We are learning that even the smallest actions can make a BIG difference!

Mrs. Annicchiarico's 6th grade social studies students explored life during the prehistoric era through a creative cave art project! After learning about early humans and how they used cave paintings to communicate stories, beliefs, and daily experiences, students designed their own cave art using symbols, animals, and scenes inspired by ancient cultures.
