It’s May… and you know what that means, SUMMER is just around the corner!

As we begin to wind down the school year, we’re also gearing up for exciting end-of-year celebrations. Our ABC Countdown continues, and we have lots of fun campus activities planned to make these last few weeks extra special.

It’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible growth we’ve seen in each of our little Cardinals. From shy beginnings to confident, capable kiddos, they have truly blossomed this year.

Thank you for sharing your little Cardinal with us. We’ve cherished every moment, and we’re looking forward to making the most of these final days before they take their next big step… Kindergarten!

All the best,

Kimberly Cole

Principal

Teacher Appreciation Week is HERE! What a special time to honor our Amazing MREC Staff! They shape our Little Cardinals' lives daily, and without their dedication and passion, our school would feel like a circus!

To celebrate their hard work, we will be treating our wonderful staff throughout the week. We invite you to join us in showing our teachers and staff love and appreciation! Your gifts, no matter how big or small, will be meaningful and are sure to brighten their day and bring smiles to their faces.

Let's CELEBRATE our Amazing MREC Staff this week!

We're so excited to celebrate the end of the school year with our ABC countdown! Your child has put in so much effort learning their letters and sounds, and we can’t wait to see them show off all their hard work. We've planned some fun days to commemorate this year's achievements. Let’s make some wonderful memories together!

We are so excited to give our students the opportunity to visit Kindergarten. On May 19th, students will visit elementary campuses. If you would like your student to attend, they must have a signed permission form by Friday, May 16th.

Melissa ISD wants to hear YOUR voice! Tomorrow is Election Day and polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Melissa Public Safety Building (2402 McKinney Street, Melissa, TX 75454) and other locations. For all voting locations and details, visit www.melissaisdbond.com/voting.

On May 5-9, we’re celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and the incredible educators who make a lasting impact every day at Melissa ISD. Our teachers embody the Cardinal Way through their passion, dedication, and belief in every student’s potential. You inspire curiosity, build confidence, and create classrooms where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Thank you for the difference you make, not just this week, but all year long.

Parents and guardians of Melissa ISD students participating in athletics, band, cheerleading, colorguard, and/or dance for the 2025-2026 school year must complete all required UIL documentation and ensure that it is approved within Rank One by the program deadline in order for the student to be eligible for participation.
