Learning looked a little different today at The Lake as students participated in our annual Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students engaged in a variety of projects, including packaging meals, assembling snack bags, and creating care packages for members of our local community.
We extend our sincere thanks to the families who generously donated supplies and to the teacher leaders of our Community Service Club, Mrs. Bucci and Mrs. Hartzell, as well as their students, for making this day such a success. Our students did an incredible job, and we encourage families to ask their child about their experience. We will be sending follow-up information from one of our sponsors, Caring for Friends, who will be delivering the donated goods.
As a reminder, we have a long holiday weekend with no school on Monday, followed by a short week with an early dismissal on Friday to conclude Marking Period 2 and Semester 1. Please be sure to check HAC and Schoology for your child’s academic progress and ensure all assignments have been completed.
Wishing you a restful holiday weekend.

Poetry Slam
FARE is sponsoring the 4th annual Poetry Slam. The event will be held in the Library at Penncrest High School on February 4th at 7:00 PM. This is an opportunity for students to share their own original poem, spoken word, expression, or even read a poem they love that was written by someone else. Students interested in reading a poem should register at: https://forms.gle/sw5bQFWWcuU2d8a5A
or QR code to sign up
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
