Weekly Update

Dear Elmore School Families,

I hope this finds you all well after a busy holiday season. I was able to enjoy some great time with family and spent a lot of time over break relaxing with a good book! I am feeling rested and ready to get back to the classroom! We have so much to look forward to in the next several weeks.

Our Ski and Skate Program will begin on wednesday, January 14th. If you have not returned your permission slips and waiver form, please assure these are submitted ASAP. I will be contacting parents who indicated they can volunteer in the next few days.

Two grades will be starting new math units upon our return and the 3rd graders will be concluding their current unit shortly. We will also be starting a new writing unit this week! I'm excited to dive deeper into our reading and phonics curriculum and will also be starting a history unit with a focus on comparing and contrasting the past with the current times. I've planned a field trip for February to the VT State House and the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier.

Our next family Hot Lunch will be offered on Monday January 12th (Ashley Kitonis). Hot Lunch will be available this week on Monday and Wednesday, with salads and sandwiches available Monday - Friday. Please submit your lunch orders by the end of day on Sunday.

Many of you may have heard that our dear Carrie(NBNC ECO naturalist) had a serious medical event during the month of December. She is recovering now and receiving rehabilitation to regain her strength. There is a Go fund Me page to help support her recovery. I will link it in a button below if you are interested in helping support this cause.

In gratitude,

Diane Nicholls
