🐝 PROSPER ISD STUDENTS ADVANCE TO DALLAS REGIONAL SPELLING BEE
Every year the journey to become a National Spelling Bee Champion is a long one. For two Prosper ISD students, they are one step away from making it to the coveted National stage.
On February 6, Prosper ISD hosted the Collin County Spelling Bee. Forty-five students from throughout the county came together to compete after qualifying at their campus or district bees. This included last year's National Champion Runner-Up.
For the six Prosper ISD students, that meant that they had successfully completed three levels of competition. The six Prosper ISD students had competed against 4968 students in the classroom bees. Then they had to become their Campus Champion. More than 470 students alone competed at this level. Campus Champions (23 of them) then advanced to the Prosper ISD District Bee. From there, Prosper ISD advanced six students to the Collin County Bee.
Bryant Elementary 4th grader, Aarav Suresh, finished fifth in the Collin County Spelling Bee making him the Alternate and the ONLY Elementary Student in the top 5.
Rogers Middle School 7th grader, Avishka Dudala, finished fourth and is advancing to the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee.
The Dallas Regional Bee will take place on March 8 at the WFAA Studio.
