News & Information to Help Keep You Up-to-Date
From Mr. Zavala
Mission Possible Starts at Home
Families play an important role in helping students be Ready, Present, and Proud each day. Here are a few simple ways you can support the mission at home:
Fuel the Mission: A healthy breakfast and meals help students stay focused and ready to learn.
Recharge: Consistent bedtimes help students come to school rested and ready.
Check the Backpack: Take a few minutes to look for important papers, assignments, and school information.
Stay on Track: Check that homework is completed and your child understands what they are learning.
Stay Connected: Reach out to your childβs teacher when you have a question or concern. We are all working toward the same mission.
Make Reading a Priority: Read to your child. Read with your child. Let your child see you reading. Reading together matters at every age, even in 6th grade!
Mission Possible: When school and home work together, our kids are ready for success.
As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns at 402-293-4880 or chad.zavala@bpsne.net.
Attendance News: Ready, Present, Proud
Great Attendance Starts with Great Routines
Now that the school year is underway, September is the perfect time to establish routines that support regular attendance.
Children thrive on consistency. Predictable bedtime routines, healthy breakfasts, and leaving home at the same time each morning help students arrive at school ready to learn.
Parents also play an important role by communicating with teachers when concerns arise. If transportation, anxiety, or other challenges are affecting attendance, our staff is ready to help identify solutions before small concerns become larger ones.
Regular attendance not only supports academic learning but also helps students build friendships, participate in classroom activities, and develop a sense of belonging.
Family Tip: Create a weekly family calendar that includes school events, appointments, extracurricular activities, and important deadlines.
Attendance Reminder: Small attendance habits developed now often become lifelong habits.
Congratulations to our 26-27 Student Council Members!

Not All Heroes Wear Capes
We are looking for some Heroes!!
We are looking for real-life heroes to visit our school during Red Ribbon Week at the end of October. Whether you are a hero in your workplace (healthcare, first responders, tradespeople, essential workers), a hero for our country (military and veterans), or an everyday hero in your family and community, we would love for you to share your story with our students.
If you or someone you know is interested in inspiring our students, please fill out our quick Volunteer Google Form to let us know that you would like to participate. More information will be provided to those who are interested. Thank you for helping us show our students what true strength, dedication and character look like!
