The Sheiko Weekly Update

Dear Families,

We had such a great week of learning! We’re excited to share some new resources on our district website designed to help you support your child’s reading growth at home!

As you may know, this is our first year using EL Education for literacy instruction. To help families stay connected and confident in supporting learning at home, we’ve created a new Literacy Family Resources page on our website. Here is the link, and here’s what you’ll find there:

Module Letters – These give an overview of what your child is learning in each literacy module, including key topics, vocabulary, and simple ways to support learning at home.

Teachers will let you know when a new module begins so that you can access the family letter on our district webpage.

Skills Block Full-Class Letters – These describe the reading and phonics concepts your child’s class is working on together and provide ideas for practice and conversation at home.

You can access the full-class letter anytime by selecting your child’s grade level on the website.

Skills Block Microphase Letters – These explain what your child is practicing in their small reading group (called a microphase) and how you can help at home.

Teachers will keep you updated on your child’s current microphase and cycle so that you can access the family letter on our district webpage.

You can always reach out to your child’s teacher if you’re unsure which microphase or cycle your child is currently in.

Finally, our "Big Announcement" is about report cards. Be sure to log in to Power School and check your child's report card on November 8th or after. You will also get an email before 9 a.m. on the 12th. Be sure to sign up for conferences as well. Your child's teacher will be sending out their "Sign Up Genius" today.

Thank you for all you do!

We always welcome parents/guardians to drop off lunch for their student. However, we will not accept food deliveries for students from vendors. This is a safety issue. If food is delivered from a vendor, your student can pick it up from the office at the end of the school day.

Thank you.

Attention Spirit of Grace, Greater Harvest, or Bethany shuttle locations, please park your vehicle and meet your child at the bus.

As a safety concern, children cannot run in the shuttle parking lots.

Track Your Route!

The Bus Zone App is available for iOS, Android and web and allows families to track their student(s) bus along its route, to and from school. Families will need to have their student(s) ID numbers which are available in PowerSchool in order to log into the app and create an account. Check out the transportation page for details.
As a safety protocol, the Bus Zone app will only allow families to see their student(s) bus route(s) only.
Please download and complete the app: Apple App Store and Google Play

Sheiko has a donation box located right outside the main office.

We’ve made it easier than ever to stay connected with the PTO!

Our brand-new Linktree puts everything in ONE easy spot to see fundraisers, event sign-ups, volunteer opportunities, donations, and more.

No more searching for links—just click once and you’re there!
