Welcome to Future Focus, our newsletter designed to help incoming freshman prepare for their time at Nashoba Regional High School! This series is tailored to provide valuable information for the transition to high school, and to offer a glimpse into life at Nashoba. We recognize that the move to high school can be overwhelming, and that navigating academics, extracurriculars, new friends, and a new school, can be challenging. Future Focus is here to help!

Future Focus is your guide to all things Nashoba, and aims to shift that transition from intimidating to exciting! We'll share helpful information with our eighth-grade students and their families as they prepare to join the Wolf Pack next year. This first issue gives you a broad overview of our school's departments and clubs, and highlights events like Future Freshman Night and middle school visits.

In our upcoming newsletters, we'll dive deeper into our departments, explore the academic opportunities and support that they offer, highlight important schedule building information, and virtually feature the avenues for out of classroom growth provided by Nashoba's broad array of extracurriculars. Throughout this first issue we've made sure to include space for your feedback, that way we can customize each issue to what you want to know!

Future Freshman Night Future Freshman Night

In early January, eighth-grade students from across the district gathered in the Nashoba Regional High School Auditorium for the annual Future Freshman Night. Principal Boynton, along with her dedicated administrative team and department heads, guided students through the fundamentals of schedule building and presented the academic options that they could expect next year.

Current student volunteers shared valuable insights and advice with the rising freshman before eighth-grade students had the opportunity to walk through the halls of Nashoba. On their walk-through, eighth -grade students were able to check out classrooms, learn more about the upcoming Innovation Pathways programs, chat with student athletes at the Athletic Showcase, and learn more about Nashoba's large array of clubs.

Middle School Visits Middle School Visits

In Early December, Principal Boynton and Assistant Principal Boulay were joined by Head of Guidance, Mrs. Specht, and Guidance Counselor Ms. Fairbanks. They gave a brief presentation to students showcasing the different ways high school schedules could be tailored to student interests and strengths.

Most notably, current high school student volunteers took some time to give eighth-graders an idea of what extracurriculars they liked and offered advice they would give their freshman selves.
