Inside Scoop
Hockinson High School - 2024-2025
May 2, 2025
Hello, Hawks:
Sorry for the lateness of the Scoop tonight! It's a busy day at Hockinson High School - Senior Night for Baseball, Boys Soccer, Softball, and the opening night of "The Sound of Music." When we say we are the "heart of the community," that is not a joke.
Connections within the community matter! Last night, our Engineering students participated in the Multicultural event at HHES. Look at those engaged kids in the pic below!
Speaking of community, I'm going to address the elephant in the room - "Senior Assassin." I want to remind everyone, especially our seniors, that this is not a school sanctioned activity. With that said, we love you, we care about you, and you are too darn close to the finish line to let your decision-making slip. Senior traditions are fun, but be respectful of our community and those within it.
This upcoming Thursday, May 8, one of our new Launch initiatives takes place from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Local employers, colleges, universities, and recruiters will be on campus to meet you! Get your game face on and build some connections.
A huge congratulations to our incredible musicians who performed at State Solo Ensemble last weekend at Central Washington University. ALL of our groups received superior scores, which is the highest designation. We have some incredibly talented students:
Solos:
- Jameson Fyfe - snare drum
- Thilo Kluth - bass clarinet (Cadyn Lanier, piano accompanist)
- Makoa Lewis - timpani and multiple percussion
Ensembles:
- Logan Armstrong and Makoa Lewis - small percussion ensemble
- Levi Brown, Emma Boehi, Easton Weber, Evelyn Sutter, Carter Hymas, Ethan Ilas - large brass ensemble.
Makoa and Logan placed 2nd in their small percussion ensemble and Makoa also took second in the multiple percussion solo division. Congratulations!
