๐ CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2026
Graduation week is upon us, and we are so incredibly proud of the Class of 2026! We wish all of our graduates the very best as they prepare to pursue their goals and embrace exciting opportunities ahead. Click here or view the graphic below to see all of the outstanding colleges, universities, and post-secondary programs that our students will be attending as they continue their academic journeys and/or begin their professional careers.
To help our Class of 2026 prepare for life after high school, we enlisted the help of our Class of 2038 (current kindergarten students) to share advice and words of wisdom for our upcoming graduates.
This is one of our favorite CVUSD traditions - check out the video below - and remember graduates to, "be nice to your teacher, learn and follow the rules," "be kind to others," and "don't forget to brush your teeth!"
This year, the graduation ceremonies for all five CVUSD high schools will once again be streamed live and available to watch online.
๐At the below dates and times, each graduation will be available to watch *LIVE* via the CVUSD's Board Meetings YouTube Channel:

Walk Down Memory Lane: CVUSD Elementary Schools Host Senior Walk Events
This week, the Class of 2026 has the opportunity to return to where their educational journey in the Conejo first began! Senior Walk events will be held at all 17 CVUSD elementary schools, welcoming graduating seniors back to their elementary alma maters in grand fashion.
Our grads will walk the corridors and hallways to the cheers and applause of elementary students, staff and families - with no shortage of high-fives to go around. The visits offer a meaningful chance for graduates to reflect on how far they have come while inspiring the next generation of learners.
These special celebrations honor the roots of learning that began in our elementary schools and highlight the strong connections that unite our Conejo Valley community. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

TOP HEADLINES
Dear CVUSD Community:
As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, we proudly celebrate another remarkable year of learning, growth, and achievement in the Conejo!
Each and every school day we have been inspired by the many ways our students have excelled academically and grown as individuals. These accomplishments have occurred in both small and big moments: in the classroom, on the playground, in the quad, and everywhere in between. Our students earned awards in countywide, statewide and national academic, athletic and performing arts competitions - a true testament to the breadth of talents nurtured within our school communities. These achievements reflect not only our studentsโ hard work and dedication, but also the strong support system that surrounds them.
The foundation of this support system is you - our extraordinary teachers, staff, administrators, volunteers, and families. Your dedication, encouragement, and partnership help create the opportunities that allow our students to thrive and reach their full potential.
This includes our outstanding Class of 2026, whose achievements and aspirations reflect the very best of our schools and community. Members of the Class of 2026 are taking the skills and knowledge they developed in CVUSD to prestigious colleges and universities nationwide and abroad, as well as to careers, trade schools, and local learning institutions. We are immensely proud of all our graduates and excited to see the many ways they will learn, lead, and succeed in the years ahead.
To every member of our Conejo community, thank you for the role you play in making our schools such vibrant and supportive places to learn and grow. Together, we have accomplished so much this year, and we have much to be proud of.
As summer begins, I hope you find time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Thank you for another exceptional year, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting and successful 2026โ2027 school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mark McLaughlin

Learning Never Goes Out of Fashion: TK Alphabet All-Stars Take the Runway
Letter C is for Carrots, Crayons, Cranberries... and Couture!
Our TK students at Acacia Magnet School for Enriched Learning closed out the school year by turning their alphabet knowledge into a runway-worthy event with custom-designed letter inspired vests. The young fashionistas strutted down the red carpet, sang alphabet songs, and wowed the paparazzi (also known as mom and dad) with both their style and their smarts!
From A to Z, these Cubs proved that learning never goes out of fashion.

A LOOK AHEAD: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
The Ventura County Sheriffโs Office would like to address our youth and young adults' growing use of E-bikes, bicycles, and electric scooters. These vehicles can be useful in reducing traffic and allowing young people a means of transportation other than motor vehicles to school and other activities. However, we have seen recent increases in collisions involving our youth on e-bikes, bicycles, and scooters. The increased speed provided by E-bikes and electric scooters requires increased care in their use:
๐ For the 2026-2027 School Year, CVUSD middle schools will be requiring signed safety contracts and issuing permits.
๐ Electric Motorcycles are not permitted on any CVUSD campus.
๐ Class 3 Electric Bicycles (required age 16 or older) are not permitted on any middle school campus.
๐ Traffic rules must be followed, and helmets must be worn at all times.
A new Initiative from the State of California has made it possible for our CVUSD schools to directly be reimbursed by private health insurance plans for the mental health and wellness services provided to students on campus by our mental health clinicians and counselors. By providing CVUSD with your health insurance plan information, CVUSD can begin the process of billing for the mental health and wellness services your student(s) receive. Please be assured that there is no cost to you. You will not receive a bill or a co-pay, and these services will not count towards or impact your insurance deductible in any way.
๐กFamilies must opt-in to this initiative each school year, so please be on the lookout for providing required parent/guardian consent and needed health insurance information during the Annual Updates process in August.
Learn more on the CVUSD's Sustaining Student Mental Health & Wellness webpage.
Introducing the LightSpeed Parent Portal for the 2026-2027 School Year
As part of the Conejo Valley Unified School District's continued focus on digital safety and family partnership, the CVUSD will be rolling out the LightSpeed Parent Portal for families this fall. The LightSpeed Portal is an optional resource that gives parents and guardians greater visibility into their studentโs activity on district-issued devices outside of school hours, including weekly summaries of web activity and the ability to manage certain at-home access features. Parents and guardians will be able to disable access to specified websites outside of school hours, or even pause internet browsing completely.
The goal is to strengthen communication between schools and families, support healthy technology habits, and provide parents with additional tools to support safe and responsible digital citizenship at home. CVUSD successfully piloted the LightSpeed Parent Portal this spring with current CVUSD parents and guardians, who provided positive feedback regarding this digital tool.
CVUSD parents and guardians will receive an email from LightSpeed this fall with instructions for how to set up their cost-free, optional LightSpeed Parent Portal accounts.
We wish the whole Conejo community a safe and joyful summer break! The first day of classes for the 2026-2027 School Year is Wednesday, August 19th.
