Hello NRMS Families,

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show and to those that donated your time or food for the event. We raised over $1000 and both the dinner and the show were wonderful community events. The students who performed showed off their impressive talents! These will hopefully become annual events that will grow each year.

We have reached the end of the second trimester of the 2025-2026 school year. Yesterday I met with our 8th grade class to remind them that even though spring is here and they can see the end in sight, we do still have 1/3 of the school year remaining. I shared how proud we are of them as a class and provided reminders to be prepared for classes, arrive to classes on time, turn in assignments, and stay in class throughout the spring. We discussed the concept of spring training - using the next three months to sharpen their scholarly skills so that they end middle school at the top of their game and set themselves up for a successful transition to high school. It is not uncommon to see 8th graders ease up on their effort with their schoolwork too early, as they dream about the glorious Cape Cod summer ahead and then arrive at high school with a big wake-up call as they struggle to regain their time management skills, their academic stamina, and return to putting forth top effort. Please support our messaging at home and keep students "in the game" right through the end of June. I will have a similar discussion with our 6th and 7th graders next week where we will also discuss course selections for next year.

Enjoy the weekend. Happy First Day of Spring!!!
