Mill Creek Principal Update

Dear Mill Creek families,

Welcome to February. We are excited for some warmer weather this month so the kids can get outside for recess! They still need to bring their coats, hats, and gloves to stay warm.

February brings Valentine's parties for every classroom. If you haven't heard from your class room parent yet, you should very soon. We will have our parties on Thursday, February 12 from 2:20-2:50 pm. Your child's teacher will also send out information regarding Valentine's cards for your class.

Many of you with fourth and fifth graders have inquired about our Homeschool Communicator Basketball team. We received information regarding this year's league on Friday and will be sending out tryout information later this week. Practices will take place during the month of March, and games will take place on Saturdays starting the first weekend in April. We will be offering a cheer team this year, as well. Last year, Mill Creek won the whole tournament, so we are very excited to see what this year brings.

The first week of February is National School Counselor Week. We recognize our amazing counselors, Mrs. Biener and Mrs. Baker. These outstanding ladies are a huge support for our students and staff. Mill Creek would not run smoothly without their kindness and expertise!

Mrs. Sarah Sicht, the principal of the new Eagle Bluffs Elementary, will be attending our PTA meeting on Tuesday, February 10. If your child will be attending Eagle Bluffs next year, this will be a great opportunity for you to meet Mrs. Sicht and ask any questions you may have.

The CPS Fine Arts Department will host three Try-it-out Nights for students in 5th grade that may be interested in playing a band or orchestra instrument in 6th grade. Please see the letter below for more information

Mill Creek Parent Happy Hour – February 6

Join fellow parents and guardians for a fun evening at the Copperstone Clubhouse. Drinks, charcuterie, and appetizers provided. Please spread the word to new families from Grant and Russell.
