Attention 8th Grade Families
Attention 8th grade families. We would like to do something special for our 8th graders at the moving on ceremony on June 12th. Last year we were able to collect donations to assemble goodie bags for every single 8th grader. We would like to do that again this year. There are 112 eighth graders this year. Items we were able to collect for the goodie bags included: packs of gum, hard candies, candy bars, beverages, snacks and gift cards. It was great to be able to give every student a special item like a gift card, art supplies, fidgets, etc. We greatly appreciate any donations you are able to give to this momentous occasion.
We will need donations by Tuesday, June 3rd, and bags will be assembled after school on Thursday, June 5th. If you're interested in helping assemble the goodie bags AND/OR donate items please reach out to Amy Brooks (amy.brooks@springfield.k12.or.us).

Did you know you can complete enrollment on the go and upload documents by taking a picture with your phone on the ParentVUE app? Get the link to download on our enrollment page.
Families are encouraged to complete the Annual Student Review before the end of the current school year, so that they can get any help they need from school secretaries before secretaries depart for summer break.
Art & STEAM Program Fundraiser
Our ever-so-awesome teacher Joe Hass and his students in the CTE/STEAM program are raising funds to purchase new machines, tools, and class materials for Art and Wood Shop.
This program benefits all grades - 6th, 7th , and 8th - preparing the students for CTE programs in High School. With increasing popularity for the program, we are quickly running out of hardwood and other materials. We appreciate any and all shares and donations!
Spark Camp Information
Outside Drinks (Dutch Bros, Energy Drinks, Sodas, ect)
Parents,
As a school, we only allow water inside classrooms during the school day. Any outside beverages purchased before school, must be consumed or disposed of before students are allowed into class. Please help us in helping your student by being mindful of drinks purchased close to school start time. We want to ensure students have ample time to finish them before the school day begins at 8:15 am.
Attention 2025/2026 Thurston High Incoming Freshman
Thurston High School has a newsletter for their incoming class of 2029 that we will keep updating. It has lots of links and useful information.

Briggs Website:
Informational Tidbits
Cell Phone Policy: Students that bring cell phones and other electronics to the school will need to have them turned off and put away during the school hours from 8:15 to 3:05 every day. If students need to contact a parent, they should come down to the office to do so. Please help us to enforce this expectation so students can concentrate on their classes and school work while at school. You can view our cell phone policy HERE.
Sports: We are excited to partner with Willamalane to provide after school sports. Students who are planning on participating in our fall sports of flag football, cross country, or volleyball can now register at the Willamalane website (www.willamalane.org) under “Youth Sports”. Fall sports will start on September 20th.
Briggs Online Gear
We are excited to have our very own online store. 10% of all proceeds come back to Briggs Middle School. There are plenty of designs to choose from and we love seeing students, parents, and community supporters rep our merch. Feel free to visit the store and check it out.
