From the Desk of Mr. Lieberz

Cooper Families,

This year we are focusing on school communication as part of our Continuous Improvement Plan at Cooper. Communication is always an important component but it is even more critical this year. Whether a school newsletter, Seesaw, or Facebook, communication goes out daily but we also need to collect feedback from families to improve in this area. In this newsletter, you will find a link to gather information from families and provide an opportunity to check in via our Cooper Family Check-In Form. We are reading these forms and are responding to concerns as they come in. Also, with the addition of Jill Stempihar, Cooper's Family Engagement Coordinator, we are providing a virtual option for families to get together and talk with her during "Talk with me Tuesdays." In the spring we will provide families with perception surveys to assess our school's progress. Parents, please take the time to enroll in your child's class SeeSaw account and to fill out the check-in form, surveys and be sure to check-in with Jill on Tuesdays! And, at any time, you may call the school and speak with me directly or send me an email.

Thank you for all you do to support Cooper and together we can overcome anything!

***By the end of the 2020-21 school year, families’ perception of school communication will increase to 95% as measured by family perception data and 100% enrollment in the school communication platform.***

Cooper Family Check In Form
We value communication with our Cooper families. Please use this form as often as you would like to communicate with us here at Cooper! Simply click the button above and take a few minutes to fill out the form!

Talk With Me Tuesdays

Please join Jill for our first "Talk With Me Tuesdays" meet up on Zoom! This is your opportunity to chat with a Cooper Parent about what is working well for your Cooper family and what things you might like to see implemented or altered! This will be a positive space to share thoughts and ideas that Jill can then bring back to the staff and administration to make Cooper (in person or virtual!) the best learning space possible for your student! Please contact Jill by email with any questions you may have: jill.stempihar@superior.k12.wi.us

Counselor Talk

Our September Character Trait is FRIENDSHIP! The start of a new school year is a great time to see old friends and make new ones. Important first steps to making new friends are saying hello, introducing yourself, asking questions about the other person, and then listening to the answers. Watch the video of Kid President trying to make a new friend and then encourage your Cooper student to use some of the questions listed to help start a conversation with his/her classmates!
