Message from Superintendent Bill Kimball

As we step into the sixth week of school, the energy across Maple Run is as vibrant as the fall colors around us. Last week was full of excitement, community, and connection! From BFA Homecoming to SATEC’s 5–8 grade Open House, it was wonderful to see families, alumni, and students coming together.

A special congratulations to all the BFA and MVU senior athletes who participated in the Powder Puff football game! Over 2,000 people attended, and our Franklin County community came together, students, families, alumni, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters, to raise funds for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta and The Jim Bashaw Cancer and Catastrophic Fund. This amazing event not only showcased teamwork, school spirit, and giving back, but also showed our students the importance of being positive, engaged members of the broader community. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable and meaningful evening.

Our middle school soccer and cross-country teams are also in full swing, showing determination, sportsmanship, and joy across our three middle schools. And with the crisp, sunny fall mornings we’ve been enjoying, there’s a sense of happiness and energy that carries into every classroom and field.

I’m grateful for the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the curiosity and resilience of our students. Each day brings opportunities to learn, connect, and grow, and together, we make Maple Run a place where everyone feels inspired to thrive.

Here’s to another amazing week of learning, community, and fall fun!

Strengthen Connections Through Gratitude

This week, focus on building stronger connections with those around you. A simple, powerful way to do this is to say “thank you.”

Choose one colleague, friend, or family member to thank for something big or small. Small acts of appreciation not only strengthen relationships but also boost your own mood and positivity.

Notice the ripple effect: expressing gratitude encourages kindness and connection in your community.

Challenge for the week: share at least one thank-you and see the difference it makes!

Consistent attendance helps students build strong habits, deepen relationships, and fully engage in classroom learning and school experiences.

It’s just as important for staff to model this behavior arriving every day prepared, present, and committed. When both students and staff show up consistently, on time, and ready to engage, we create a culture of reliability, respect, and care that benefits everyone in our community.
Let’s make every school day count, our students are counting on us!
